Here’s a bit of retro goodness for you…Check out these new watches from Swatch, which feature abstract art designs created by famed painter Billy The Artist. The watches come in two models, the multicolor “Morning Glow”, and the Black/White “Afterdark”. At $55 and $65, they are a nice way to stand out from the crowd without emptying out your wallet. Cop them here.

If you’re going to be in the New York area this weekend, then you should check out the 5th annual Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival. The Festival celebrates true hip hop culture, presenting a mix of indie and major label artists all representing the best the music has to offer. More info here.

If you never seen Femi Kuti, son of afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti perform live, you haven’t lived. Just the show that his background singers/dancers put on is alone worth the price of admission. But then when Femi chimes in with his furious sax playing and chants, you know you are in for a treat…The Root has a new article on Femi’s new tour, along with the storied history of his family. Check it out here.
As a bonus, here’s a video of Femi performing live…you can thank me later.
